Election 2008

Only 1459 more days to go to a Bush-free Whitehouse!

I'm not disappointed in the election results. I'm disgusted.

My reality obviously differs from that of my fellow Americans considerably. We've just given the stamp of approval to the last four years of Bush's policies, which feels like thanking the man who just shot my dog.

Almost as significant as losing the Presidential race is Tom Daschle's loss in South Dakota. He was the Senate Minority Leader, for crying out loud.

The Dems were organized and mobilized, yet we lost by an embarrassing margin. What went wrong? I read somewhere that the youth vote was proportionally the same as 2000, and 30-44 voter turnout was down!? Old people ruled the election, eh?

We get the country we deserve, I guess. Pass the Bud and pork rinds, Bubba, and let's figure out who to bomb next.

Come on Tat! Your just whining. You can do better than that. You're a smart guy! You know what whining does for you. Nothing! Hell, anybody can cry and whine. Again... you're better than that. Get passed your frustration for a second, what really happened? Talk some usefull talk. We've got this thing to do all over again in 2008. Its too easy to just call the Republicans a bunch of Bubbas. Not all Republicans are Bubba's. No more than all Democrats are gay baby killers. Let's just call them all Americans. Getting rid of Bush was not enough reason for the majority of Americans. However, I believe the majority of Americans would not have a problem with getting rid of Bush for the right reasons. The Democratic party focused so much energy on their "Bush has got to go" theme that they did not give the American people anything to fill the void. You want to shoot my dog, well, I don't care for him all that much, but do I get a better dog when we're done? What happened to Lieberman or Edwards or Clark? Kerry was way to far left, hell, he was an anti-war activist for crying out loud! (Yes there is a need for anti-war activists, but not as president. Let someone who is not president do that job) The Democrats cannot expect to carry the majority with someone as far left as Kerry. Maybe its not something you want to have to say, but the vote proves it.

Now... agree with me. Disagree with me. But speak intelligently to me. Don't just whine!

What say ye?

As a Bubba, and an independent liberal, I'm VERY disappointed. However, I recognize that the fight is not over. We have been conditioned to believe that our vote is our only voice. Now is the time to FIGHT. Write letters, make donations, protest! Bush will likely do what he and his neo-con handlers want, but it is absolutely necessary to let him know in one way or another that we are STILL HERE. We may be the minority, but we are still Americans, and we must speak up for our rights!

P.S. The study done by the journal that selected Kerry as the most liberal Senator is absolutely flawed, and the lie was perpetuated by the Administration.

Damn. I guess I need to get my fat butt in to shape. Bush is gonna need more bodies for the meat grinder in Iraq. Or, is it Iran we're going after next?

Where's Wes Clark when ya need him?
