Molly at 57 hours

We just returned from the hospital with good news. Molly is no longer being supported by ventilator. She is breathing largely on her own with only a nasal tube providing positive pressure to prevent her lungs from collapsing. She's also had her oxygen reduced to 21%, which is room level. The next step is totally breathing on her own.

She's also opening her eyes briefly to check out the world. They look blue, but it's hard to tell in the reduced light level of her incubator.

Things are going well.

It sounds like she is doing great. I showed the photo album to my class yesterday and they all declared that she was very pretty! Mae wanted to look at it over and over.

You are always in my thoughts.
